The 3 7/8" Internal Pressure-Operated Circulating Valve is a sort
of circulating valve used to the drill stem testing operation in
slim hole,cased hole and open hole.
Operation of IPO circulating valve
The IPO circulating valve is operated by internal pressure (500 to
10,000 psi above hydrostatic). The pessure to operate the tool is
determined by shear pins, which hold the sliding valve in the
closed position. In order to open the valve, increasing the tubing
pressure to a pressure above annulus hydrostaticequal to the shear
value of the shear pins.

Required Test to check the IPO Circulating valve
* Internal Pressure sealing test:
Do not install the shear pins, locking ring, shear sleeve, pin
cover, install the test sleeve next to the shear mandrel in the
bottom. Make up the test subs on the two ends of the tool.
* Function test:
Install four shear pins, attach the test caps on the two ends of
the tool, fill the tool with water, increase pressure gradually to
shear the pins and open completely the circulating ports,
* Record the test chart
*HSE* Safety Instructions:
1. When running each pressure test, you must increase pressure
gradually. When the pressure is up to 20Mpa,Keep it for one minute,
then every 10Mpa keep it for one minute until the rating pressure.
2. During the whole process, make sure the entire test operator
keep away from plug and joint which may laps.
3. Test area should set isolation, others except operator not be
allowed to enter test area.
4. If there is anybody in the test area, it should set isolation,
avoiding test production fly off the test area.
