Oil Well Wireline Tools Disc & Spring Rope Socket Slickline connection

The disc and spring rope socket is one of the wireline basic tools for the oilfield wireline and slickline operation, the rope socket in disc and spring type is used to attach wireline to the tools string. In the wireline operation, the disc and spring rope socket is firmly connected to the steel wire and the tool string by the wire in the rope cap. The inside is equipped with a small spring, which is used to prevent the wire knot from being pulled out during the shock striking and buffering.

Features of the disc and spring rope socket

The disc and spring rope socket is composed of an external fishing neck, spring, guide and wire carrier.The wireline is passed through the rope socket body , spring and guide before being wrapped tightly around the wire carrier. The short end of the wireline is firmly wrapped around the long end using several close wraps. A clean break made close to the last wrap allows the spring and guide to pass over the wraps. The knot is then installed into the body.
